Terms of Use

Last updated July 11, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Brut app ("Brut", "the app"). Brut is operated by Petr Urbánek, IČO 01155458, a self-employed developer based in Prague, Czech Republic ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Brut on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal or business content. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or any part of it.

2. Your content

Brut processes your photos and videos entirely on your device. You keep all rights to your content — we never receive, store, or claim any ownership of it. You are solely responsible for the content you create and for having the rights to use any photos, videos, or other material you import.

3. Brut PRO subscription

The app is free to download. Brut PRO is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks video clips (with pan, zoom, rotate and looping preview) and full-resolution video export.

  • Plans. PRO is offered as a monthly plan ($1.99/month) and a yearly plan ($11.99/year). The current price for your region is shown in the app before you purchase.
  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn't refund the current period.
  • Refunds. All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policies — we can't issue refunds directly. See Apple's support.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Brut to create or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or violates the rules of the platforms you post to (such as Instagram). You're responsible for complying with those platforms' own terms.

5. Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features (including features marked "soon") at any time. We aim to keep the app working but don't guarantee it will always be available or error-free.

6. Disclaimer

Brut is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the app will meet your requirements or be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Czech or EU law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of the app. Because your content stays on your device, you are responsible for keeping your own backups. This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live. The app is distributed through the Apple App Store and is also subject to Apple's terms.
